Hello!
How was everyone’s weekend? Mine was amazing, I had an absolute blast in Vermont this past weekend!
I’ll post a recap tomorrow, in the mean time here’s last weeks workouts.
Being the week before the Tough Mudder I wanted to continue on my tear of amazing workouts. The last few weeks I’ve felt very strong and ready to take on the physical challenges that May will hold. But at the same time I don’t want to tear anything, and I need to ensure that I’m not overdoing it when it comes to workouts.
My plan is to continue working out, but tone it down a little. I have races 3 out of the 4 weekends in May so I’m planning to take at least one extra rest day a week and have at least one light recovery workout.
I focused solely on running this week, I originally hadn’t meant to I wanted to get one strength workout in as well as a spin class, but running was really the only thing that worked with my schedule this week.
Monday: 8 mile run. I had originally planned on just running 5.5 but ended up stretching it out a little longer. My hamstrings were tight, but other than that I felt really good.
Tuesday: Day off.
Wednesday: 5 mile run
Thursday: Day off
Friday: light 3 mile run, nothing too crazy just wanted to get out and make sure the legs were loose for the weekend!
Saturday: 10 miles of mud, hills and obstacles. Recap tomorrow!
Sunday: Active rest day, ended up going on a walk with Ali and covering close to 6 miles!
